Mr Davis is the founder and chief executive officer of Mateva Capital, LLC, which provides strategic financial advisory services to companies principally involved in the energy, power and mining related industries. Prior to founding Mateva Capital, LLC, he successfully led several major Wall Street investment banking efforts in the Americas, Europe and Africa. These firms included Credit Suisse First Boston and its predecessor firm Donaldson Lufkin & Jenrette (DLJ), as well as Drexel Burnham Lambert and Bankers Trust Company. He was one of the founding members and managing director of the DLJ power and energy group that focused on financing, restructuring and mergers and acquisitions within the energy sector. In addition, Mr Davis led several of DLJ’s international investment banking efforts in South America, Europe, Asia and Africa, including founding and investing in DLJ African Merchant Bank in South Africa. While based in South Africa, Mr Davis was also responsible for raising and managing a private equity fund that invested in southern Africa. Mr Davis subsequently led DLJ’s European energy, power, mining, and transportation investment banking efforts while based in London. After his time in London, Mr Davis returned to the U.S. to lead the energy and power investment banking effort in the western U.S. as managing director at both DLJ and, post-merger, Credit Suisse. He was also one of the principal advisers to the California State Assembly during the energy crisis of 2001. Since founding Mateva Capital, LLC in 2002, Mr Davis has been actively working with a wide variety of companies principally involved in the energy and power industry. He has acted for numerous companies as strategic advisor, seconded executive, non-executive board member and chairman. Mr Davis is a graduate of Harvard College where he majored in physics.
